Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. ~Coco Chanel

Forget about taxes, education, national debt. Let’s discuss the sapphire blue Barbara Tfank dress the first lady wore during last night’s State of the Union address.
The dress, from Tfank’s Resort 2012 collection, looked lovely on Shelley O, don’t you think? The elongated marquis brooch is by Alexis Bittar.
A closer shot:
Aren’t you dying to see her shoes?! The first reader to produce a photo gets a kiss on the forehead.
Turns out this isn’t the first time Shelley’s worn a Tfank frock.
This dress was designed by Tfank.
And so was this little number.
All three dresses are very flattering. Shelley should keep Ms. Tfank in the rotation.

Today I saw a photo of Michelle Obama in a lovely Asos dress. Seeing it reminded me of the Asos dress I wasn’t able to buy because it sold out in my size before I could snatch it up− the one that got away.
Isn’t that the worst? When you lose your chance to buy something you had your heart set on. (You didn’t think I was going to write a sappy post about some boy, did you?)
Here’s the dress I wanted…still want, actually.
Those stripes. That Peter Pan collar. The open back.
Oh, the agony.
